ChimpFrameWork

The ChimpFrameWork is the project I worked on during my graduation internship at ChimpWorks Games. It is a framework built in Unity to support the integration of several features (modules) to shorten the development time of a project. The framework consists of several features designed to provide a basis for modules to function within a project, such as an event system that decouples the sender and receivers of a function call. The framework was used to create, among other things, a challenge module that allows a designer to easily define challenges in Unity's inspector interface. These challenges can then be made fully functional simply by adding a few event calls.

Girl Got Hacked

Girl Got Hacked is a real-life escape room project I worked on during my Fontys Game Design & Technology minor. It was made in co-operation with students of the Fontys Academy for Creative Industries and the Fontys Cyber Security minor. Players take on the role of Cyber Security Corporation investigators. By solving puzzles and gathering clues hidden inside the chambers, players must uncover the identity of Jessica's hacker. The escape room was funded by Fontys and is being used to attract visitors at open house days and other events. Winner of the ICTalent Awards 2016.

Just Another Space Shooter

Just Another Space Shooter is... well, a space shooter! It was made in Unity as a solo assignment during the Game Design & Technology minor at Fontys. The player controls a single gunship and must survive for as long as possible to rack up a high score. Meanwhile, the player can gather experience points needed to upgrade the ship's weaponry and defences. My main focus in this project was the development of a Finite State Machine to control the AI.

Tumbleweeds

Tumbleweeds is a multiplayer turn-based strategy game made in Unity, using the Photon Unity Networking plug-in. It was a solo school project during my second year at Fontys. This project was my first experience with Unity networking, but I also took the opportunity to learn the basics of 3DsMax by creating most of the art assets by myself.

Various Features

In my spare time I sometimes think of a particular feature I would like to learn more about, or a problem I would like to solve. This project is the result of some of these efforts. One of these features is my implementation of the A* pathfinding algorithm. I've also created a maze generator using the recursive backtracker algorithm. The pathfinding demo and maze generator can be viewed on the details page (provided your browser supports WebGL). The final feature in this project is something I made purely for the fun of it. It's a dialogue system that allows you to use the Unity Mecanim interface to create branching dialogue trees.
